Teaching Philosophy
Our teaching philosophy is summed up in one word…..funmersion. This is immersion, with fun mixed in!
This playful component allows student to relax and enjoy learning. This stems from our belief that language learning with young children is best accomplished in an atmosphere where they are free to assimilate their knowledge by doing what they do best…playing!
While nearly all of the class is conducted in Spanish, all of the content is made accessible to both the child and parent through songs, stories, games, and crafts.
The songs used help the students to retain the knowledge in an easy, fun manner, while the stories provide context for language learning. The games encourage positive social interaction, and the crafts are a fun project for the student to take home and teach others about the target language.
Parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend the classes, as their reinforcement of the learning makes all the difference. |
